Great article, John! I agree that lie is weapons, maybe even worse than nuclear weapons. An entire nation can perish if it accepts a lie for the truth. Ukrainian people believed the lie that Russia is enemy, weak and poor and that Russia is easy to defeat .Someone deceived and used them as battering ram against Russia. But it was a big mistake, because Russia becomes much stronger when it defends against enemies or when it defends the weak. Most Ukrainians have Russian roots. They subconsciously love Russia. When they feel bad, they call Russia. Bandera Kyiv regime will soon fail. Ukraine will be cleansed of the haters of Russia. Love between Ukraine and Russia save the world.

Very interesting. I agree about most things you write, except this sentence: "Well, the idea of Moscow doing so is ludicrous because Russia and its ally Belarus would also be highly contaminated." More than 100 nuclear bombs have been detonated above ground, and more than 800 underground, at the Nevada Test Site, a mere 105 km (65 miles) from Las Vegas. If Las Vegas wasn't heavily contaminated by some 1,000 nuclear bombs, why would Russia and Belarus be heavily contaminated by a handful of bombs? Nine U.S. presidents approved the detonation of 1,000 nuclear bombs right outside of Las Vegas, but it's ludicrous to suggest that Putin would detonate nuclear weapons in Ukraine?

Thanks for the comment. You raise a good question and I won’t pretend to know what the Kremlin is thinking exactly. But having worked with both Ukraine and Russia extensively for many years, I don’t believe that Moscow would use nukes against Ukraine — for a number of reasons in addition to what I already wrote in the article. More likely, if facing total defeat and catastrophe, Moscow would launch nuclear attacks against major western capitals. Once again, therefore, I state my position clearly — negotiate a ceasefire asap.
