I hear you. I hear your anguish. This question has been going through my mind for 18 months: Why have so many otherwise educated and intelligent people apparently lost their minds, and are unable to think independently and critically? Why does the mass hysteria continue these 18 months?
Why don’t more people understand that they’re being lied to? Since when did the government ever tell the truth? Why are so many people slavishly believing every word uttered by corrupt and discredited bureaucrats, such as Anthony Fauci?
Even more, why do many people still trust the media? Public trust in our media pretty much ended when they helped fabricate and then promoted the ludicrous conspiracy theory known as Russiagate, which falsely claimed (for 4 years!) that POTUS was a Kremlin spy. Haven’t people read the fable: ‘The Boy Who Cried Wolf’? You lie once, you lie twice… That’s it. We stop believing you; we stop trusting you.
So, why should we believe anything the media says regarding Covid-19? Remember how in February 2020 when the Nobel Prize winner for virology, Dr. Luc Montagnier, said the Covid virus clearly came from a lab… what happened next? The hacks at the major New York City media pounced on him like a pack of rabid hyenas and berated him as a “conspiracy theorist”. Yeah, sure: Who the hell does Dr Montagnier think he is, and Who cares that he has a Nobel Prize in virology… he’s a conspiracy theorist!
This is the sad state of affairs that we call “Modern America”. It’s truly deplorable. There’s a War on Science; a War on Facts; a War on Common Sense; a War on Reality. And the madness is emanating primarily from two centers — American universities, most of which embrace radical nihilistic ideas; and the major corporate media, which are staffed by people from those crazed universities. These people are literally manufacturing the public’s perception of reality, a false reality.
Disclaimer: I worked 15 years as a journalist with the major corporate media. In addition, I worked another 15 years as a media relations/communications specialist, often dealing with those major media, (including when I was very active in human rights in Russia, and then, most recently, in Norway). The world of media is something I know inside and out, which is why I treat it with a healthy dose of skepticism. I understand its limitations and politics.
A large part of American society, however, especially those who fancy themselves highly educated, don’t share this skepticism. As they are very busy with their careers, naturally they don’t have time to understand what’s happening behind the scenes of major media; nor do they want to spend the time to understand the major issues.
Instead, they outsource their thinking to those major media, and become robotic devotees to everything they see and read on CNN, the New York Times, Reuters, The Guardian, MSNBC, etc… And this is where all the problems start.
Most of us have had a discussion on Facebook where someone tries to prove their point, and disprove your point, by posting a link to an article from their corporate media of choice. They believe that weblink will force you to admit and say: “Oh, yeah, thanks; if CNN says I’m wrong, then I must be wrong.”
Debate by weblink is a bizarre pseudo-intellectual tool. Instead of thinking for yourself, Voila, just let those media outlets do the thinking for you. And what a coincidence — the major media outlets just happen to be saying the same thing, reading off the same script. There’s a reason for that. Let me explain.
Today a handful of major media (New York Times, Reuters, Bloomberg, etc) produce most of the news reported in the English-speaking world, and which is printed and shown in newspapers and TV stations across the globe. This centralization of news gathering, is, of course, unprecedented, and gives enormous power to a few powerful people to craft Reality and the narrative that they want people to hear and see.
When the Bolsheviks seized power in Russia in autumn 1917, the first thing they did was seize control of the telegraph stations. Why? To control the flow of information, and then to shape the reality of those catastrophic events; of course, all this was done to their advantage. Today, effectively, the same is happening. Control of the major media is literally in the hands of a few people who are shaping our reality. In effect, they act liked modern-day Bolsheviks.
Have you noticed that the major media ignore the protests of hundreds of thousands of health rights activists across the globe, which happen every weekend for many months? And they ignore the cries and suffering of tens of thousands of people who have died and been severely injured by the experimental Covid 19 vaccines.
Massive demonstrations against Covid vaccines and vaccine passports are a common occurrence, but you’ve probably not heard about them. However, if just 100 people protest in Moscow against the Kremlin, suddenly that’s major news all across the English-speaking world and elsewhere in Europe. You really think this is not by design and plan?
As someone who has worked in multiple positions with the major media for 30 years, I can say with 100% certainty that behind every article and news report is tremendous pressure from a Public Relations firms and other corporate/government special interests which work to influence, manipulate and coerce journalists and their editors.
Nothing is published or shown in the media because they want to inform you and think you need to know something. Instead, increasingly today we see that there’s a narrative that must be followed. Immense effort and resources are expended to craft that narrative, and much of that effort takes place behind closed doors.
For example, do you know that Jim Smith, the former President and CEO of Reuters, the world’s most powerful news agency, sits on the board of Pfizer? Now, do you think that might in any way influence how Reuters covers Pfizer and the experimental Covid vaccines? Of course not….
Oh, and I haven’t even begun to tell you about the hiring and firing practices at these major media. Ideological dependability is very important. If your political views don’t align with the top management/editors, then landing a job is nearly impossible. Forget about diversity when it comes to ideology and viewpoints.
This discussion will be continued….
Thank you for your truthful words and an objective analysis! You are my favorite media that I trust!
